Starbuck Equestrian was awarded two division champions at the Old Salem farm two week horse show in May. The horse show has the highest rating in the United States Equestrian Federation rating system. Emma Ryan riding Starbuck Equestrian’s Bondoctro, had an outstanding two days of horse showing. The team had an almost clean sweep of the adult hunter division, winning both over fence classes. The team then jumped over the Adult Hunter Classic course and received a score of 86.This score remained on top for the whole class. Changing gears, the talented team than entered the Ariat Adult Medal class, and gained yet another 1st place in the equitation class.

Hannah Lupica and Lord Stanley were Small Junior Hunter Reserve Champion. Lupica had to work very hard to win this title over two days of horse showing. On the first day they won an over fence class, but had a difficult ride in the Handy Hunter when Lord Stanley decided not to jump the trot fence. Bracing themselves for the Sunday competition, Lupica and Stanley received another 3rd over fences and a second in the under saddle class, earning enough points to be reserve champion for the division. This win, gained them a seat at the East Coast Junior Hunter Finals, held in Devon Pa. July 7th and 8th. Teammate Emily Curley and Cinema, also received solid placing in the Large Junior Hunter Division. Children’s Hunter Horse riders Maggie Greene, Olivia Tobias and Hannah Taylor also showed successfully and gained ribbons along with Olivia Autore and Anna Bradley in the Children’s Hunter Ponies.

Starbuck Equestrian’s jumpers were not to be outdone by the hunters. Anna Platek and California’s, Limerick were 3rd in the High Children’s Jumper Classic. Trainer Amanda Starbuck and Carte Blanche were also 3rd in the 7/8 year old speed class. Cayla Fisher and her jumper Windo also placed in the High Children’s Jumpers. Professional riders Amanda and Juliana Starbuck prepared these horses for the two week horse show and trained the students along with the help of Janie Weber. The A team next competes at the Saratoga Skidmore Horse show followed by the Fairfield Hunt Club Charity Horse show in June, where Starbuck Equestrian will have over 20 horses showing.
